Scope

Users: all Private Wealth clients and their relationship managers. Team: 4, working with engineering and Operations. What I owned: the rollout of a one-view platform for clients and RMs, as product owner, from the pre-launch data check and staged launch to the weekly portfolio mailer redesign.

Problem

Private Wealth clients hold PMS, AIF, mutual funds, equities and more. Clients and their relationship managers had to piece the picture together product by product, and asked Operations for reports.

Insight

  • For a wealth client, a wrong number costs more than a missing feature. One incorrect holding breaks trust in the whole view, so accuracy had to come before reach.

  • A view nobody opens doesn't help anyone. Web access alone kept usage low. Daily users stayed a small group until the card appeared in the app they already use, then climbed sharply.

Options and tradeoffs

  • Build consolidation in-house, or use a vendor platform. We used the one-view platform for consolidation, with FundsIndia's client and relationship-manager surfaces on top. That was faster to cover every product type, at the cost of depending on a vendor.

  • Launch fast, or validate first. I held go-live until a cross-product data check came back clean.

  • Everything at once, or staged. Staged: the one-view platform for all Private Wealth clients, then the app card, then the web dashboard.

  • Wait for clients to log in, or bring the portfolio to them. Both. The app card for clients who open the app, and a weekly portfolio mailer for those who don't.

What I did

  • I ran a data consistency check across 15–20 client portfolios spanning PMS, AIF, mutual funds and equities before launch.

  • There were no mismatches between the FundsIndia portal and the one-view platform.

  • I announced go-live to all Private Wealth clients and planned a walkthrough for relationship managers.

  • I approved the one-view platform's client dashboard for all Private Wealth clients.

  • It was approved on 22 June 2026. Engineering enabled it on the web on 30 June 2026.

  • I tracked adoption after the app card launch.

  • I redesigned the weekly portfolio mailer and made the Let's Talk section much more prominent, so clients could reach their advisor directly from their portfolio summary. It rolled out on 13 September 2025.

  • I owned the day-to-day vendor relationship for the platform from June through September 2026.

Outcome

  • Daily active use was up 47%, attributed to the app card.

  • Daily users were a small group for months, then climbed to a much larger peak after the app card. Those levels are read from a chart, so treat them as approximate.

  • More than 40 valuation reports were downloaded a day after reports were added to the relationship-manager dashboard.

  • Leadership noted very good feedback from relationship managers on Private Wealth.

  • What's still unclear. The chart has an adoption line that stays flat along the bottom, and the chart doesn't define it. Usage also moves around a lot after the peak. I would want a steady reading, not the launch spike, before calling this adopted.

What I learned

  • Distribution beats features. The same data got used once it was one tap away in the app.

  • Track trust, not just usage. Data-mismatch tickets, and report requests from relationship managers to Operations.

  • Show how fresh the data is for each product. PMS and AIF data arrive later than mutual fund data.
